Dec 9: Congressman Sensenbrenner released the following statement endorsing Reince Priebus in his bid for Chairman of the Republican National Committee:
"Wisconsin Republicans are celebrating one of the greatest successes in our history. The 2010 election came together as a result of the right policies, the right candidates, the right message and dedicated leaders. Wisconsin GOP came up as winners!
The leadership of this effort was spearheaded by the State GOP Chair, Reince Priebus, and he is to be commended for the outstanding job and the tireless effort that he poured into the job. Reince shares my view of our steadfast conservative values and commitment to more individual freedom. He remained focused on this commitment, deftly moved all the puzzle pieces and carefully placed them exactly where they needed to be. As a result, Wisconsin has elected both federal and state leaders who stand ready to take us back in the right direction with the same shared commitment to these values.
I support Reince’s run for the Chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC). I am confident he will utilize all of his outstanding skills to lead the RNC in the same manner he has lead our Republican Party in Wisconsin. I wish him well."

Announces Candidacy for Re-election
Menomonee
Falls, WI
– Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (WI-05), today announced he is again a
candidate for re-election to represent Wisconsin’s 5th
Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“As
I first announced earlier this year, I am a candidate for re-election in
2010. The critical issues before us today are directly affecting our
quality of life. I want to continue the battle to improve our economy,
restore jobs and reduce government spending. My strong record
demonstrates my commitment to individual freedom and less government intrusion
in our lives. I stand ready to continue my representation of these core
principles.
“I
have the opportunity to listen to my constituents at the hundreds of town hall
meetings and office hours that I hold each year throughout the 5th
Congressional District. I am humbled by the support from those I
represent and I look forward to continuing to represent them in the manner in
which they have become accustomed – with a clear, common-sense message of
telling it like it is,” Sensenbrenner said.
Sensenbrenner
has served in Congress since 1978. He and his wife Cheryl have
two adult
sons, Frank and Bob.
